Rocks, Treats, Trains, and Snow!

On November 12th we spent the day in Atlanta, Stone Mountain to be exact. The weather was beautiful and it was the first day of the Christmas Village festivities there. What a treat! So we spent the day just enjoying being together and these 3 not in the clinic. Lets see, how many residents does it take to read a map? Josh thinks he has figured it out, Mark is still not sure, and Allison doesn't care because she was having a good hair day. We saw the Polar Express (just parts of it) in -D. Nice glasses dudes. Us. This was before the movie started. Thus, before the motion sickness :) Actually, it wasn't too bad, but there were a couple of parts that got us. Sledding anyone? They were making snow- different from making water...just to clarify.
Since it was such a beautiful day, we decided not to hike to the top of Stone Mountain, we rode up instead. Nice ride, huh? Just enjoying the ride. So pretty... We made it to the top. Part of Atlanta in the distance. How do these trees grow on a solid piece of rock? This one didn't make it, but I thought it was pretty. Grateful for the fence for obvious reasons... Sometimes rocks are just made for you to kick back and relax. Classic. I love it. Time to play...and people watch :) These boys were running down the rock. The picture doesn't look as steep as it really was. Josh had to be ready with the camera to capture the fall, that never happened. Whew. :)I wonder where they are from... Copy cats We watched this guy walk toward us with the water bottle on his head. It fell right after I snapped the picture...Oops. Surely it wasn't our fault. Climbing back to the top. One last look at the view before we headed back down. After we were finished playing in the rocks, we headed to the put put course to see how awesome we are. We stopped taking score on hole #2. :) These 3 are excited can you tell. Allison and Mark didn't even plan the pose. I love it! It was a nice shot I am sure... Look at that form! He looks like a pro... After we were finished with our shortened game of golf, we went to a little show called Holly Jolly Cabaret. My favorite part was when they did a name that holiday tune. Josh was almost right when he guessed "Ding Dong Merrily Along". They felt bad for him and gave him the prize even though it was supposed to be "Ding Dong Merrily on High". Ooops. Oh well. We were excited that he won a funnel cake! :) We hurried to claim the prize. It was delicious. Josh even sweet-talked the lady to put 2 toppings on it. Funnel cake, peaches, and ice cream. Yummmm! Allison enjoyed her delicious treat. Mark was very excited for his treat. I liked this sign on the toy store. Well, what do ya think? After the treats and wandering through toy stores, we had a train to catch. After the train ride, we had to walk through the "winter wonderland". Well, we walked, Josh decided to do a little jig. This picture is classic. Thanks everyone for a great day and a fun weekend.

I find it interesting that it was the place where the Klu Klux Klan was re-born in the early 1900s. Ironic that people who essentially committed treason are so glorified. I think most of those men would be horrified.
By the way, have you had anyone call you a Yankee yet?

That looks like one of the funnest rocks I've ever seen. It looks like there are a lot of fun things to do around where you live. I'm glad that Josh had some time away from working to spend with you...the little punk. ;) And, I'm jealous of your funnel cake! Then again, we just went up to Der Dutchman and got a couple doughnuts so take that! haha
